Achimota School held its 94th Speech and Prize giving day on Saturday 6th November, 2021. The theme was Sustaining the New Phase of Education through Digitalization. The Guest of Honour was Akora Justice Gertrude Torkornoo ( Justice of the Supreme Court ) and the Guest Speaker was Akora Ruth Anibea Badoo ’96, Senior Manager at MTN.
A few facts.
Current student population is just under 4,100 with a staff component of over 300
In SHS1, out of 30 prizes won, 21 were Girls – 70%
In SHS2, out of 27 prizes won 14 were Girls – 52%
In SHS3, out of 25 prizes won, 19 were Girls – 76%
Out of 45 Special prizes won, 35 were Girls – 78%
Out of 9 students who had 8As in WASSCE 2020, 6 were Girls – 67%
Special mention must be made of Afua Ansah Manukure who won 15 prizes. She is now an Engineering Student at Cornell University in New York.
