Last week, we received reports from Akoras and from School security personnel about new encroachment on Achimota School land in the Folly area.
The Land and Projects Sub-Committee of the OAA Executive Committee investigated the matter over the weekend and paid a visit to the affected area.
The Chair of the School Board also spoke to the Municipal Chief Executive for Okaikoi North Municipal Assembly about the matter. The Assembly earlier this year supported the OAA and the school in demolishing some new structures that were coming up and have agreed in principle to do same with the new structures coming up.
At an Emergency meeting of the OAA ExCo last night we discussed the various developments and learned that the structure would be demolished this week with assistance from the OAA.
We thank Akoras for their interest in the land matter.
Ernest Aryeetey
OAA President
