ASETF Campaign to raise $1,000,000 by April next year.

Dear Akora, a couple of months ago we launched the ASETF Campaign to raise $1,000,000 by April next year. We also committed to raise $10,000,000 before 2027 when Achimota School turns 100 years old. We said that if 1,000 Akoras gave ASETF $1,000 each, we would achieve the first target. I am glad that many people have already shown interest, and now $35,000 have been committed by way of pledges.
I am writing to you this afternoon to encourage you to consider making a pledge of any amount of your choice.
Many people have asked me what the funds raised would be used for. This has been my response— If the Trust Fund invested $10,000,000 by 2027, and this yielded a very conservative return of 10% annually, an amount of $1,000,000 would be available for the maintenance of the School’s property, thus freeing Year Groups from the burden of repairing broken facilities. Year Groups would be able to redirect their resources elsewhere to support the young minds at the School.
This is a direct appeal to you, Akora. Most members of the OAA Executive Committee have pledged a minimum of $1,000 and some have already made payment. What about you? I can assure you that your money will be well utilized and protected for the benefit of many generations of Achimotans.
Please send us a message on 0243-586230 to make a pledge or use any of the announced methods to make a payment.
Year Groups are also strongly encouraged to make pledges. There will be appropriate recognition for both individuals groups making contributions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Ernest Aryeetey
OAA President
