Yesutor Amedofu heads Interventions, Training and Outreach at Autism & Intellectual Developmental Difference Interventions Network [AIDDIN] – an NGO she founded to promote the inclusion and active participation of persons with Autism and Intellectual/Developmental Disorders (AIDD) in Ghana/sub-Saharan Africa. Through AIDDIN, Yesutor leads a multidisciplinary network of professionals to develop and implement individualized and community-based interventions that address the needs of persons with AIDD while sensitizing communities and training (para) professionals.
Yesutor attended Achimota School, the University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast and Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario-Canada. She has degrees in Sociology (BA), Health Education (MA) and Global Development Studies (MA). She is currently a fellow of the West African Genetic Medicine Centre (WAGMC) pursuing MSc in Speech and Language therapy at the University of Ghana, Legon.
As a leader, 2021 Mandela Washington Fellow Yesutor is passionate about local community involvement in the design and delivery of interventions to support the inclusion and participation of persons with AIDD in Ghana and the sub-region.
