Dear Akora,
Exactly one week ago, we held our AGM 2020 at the Aggrey Chapel. I had written to you earlier to encourage you to participate in it, either physically or virtually. I am writing to you now to thank you for your positive response to my appeal. As many as 75 people logged on at some point from all parts of the world and 51 people came to the Chapel. By the time we closed the meeting, there were 59 people still logged on. I thank you all for the show of interest. The Zoom meeting will be even better organized next time.
Equally important is the fact that many people have expressed their commitment to OAA by paying their annual dues. I receive alerts whenever deposits are made into the account, and this is one ‘disturbance’ I look forward to, day or night. Please continue ‘disturbing’ me with your dues payment. We need it badly.
As you know, we now have a new Executive Committee in place. We have received congratulatory messages from many of you. Thank you. On behalf of the ExCo, I pledge our commitment to carrying out properly the work before us. I am fully aware of what Akoras expect and we will do our best to meet realistic expectations. We can’t promise too many things at this stage, but we promise to do our best, especially if you continue paying your dues and making contributions to the Land Fund. When you see any Akora, don’t forget to ask him or her “Have you paid your OAA dues?” Encourage all your Year Group members to pay their dues. That will win them the right to make all the complaints they like about OAA and the School 24/7 😊. I will be proposing an award for the Year Group with the largest payments for dues and land fund. Help us to save the School that we love so much.
Once again, I thank you for your support and for your love for the School.
Stay safe!
Ernest Aryeetey
OAA President
